Drums, merry-go-rounds and pots and pans - From September 19 to 21, 2025, Arpajon, in Essonne (91), is back with the 92nd edition of the Foire aux Haricots. Motorists are advised that parking will be prohibited from September 14, and traffic will be closed from September 19 to 22.
Founded in 1922 as an agricultural event, it quickly prospered, becoming a regional fair in 1938. After the Second World War, the event took off again with a gastronomic competition launched in 1952, featuring the famous Chevrier bean, a local variety of flageolet discovered in 1872. By 1968, the event had already attracted 300,000 visitors, and in 1970, it became a national fair. Since the mid-1980s, it has become a major festive event on the 3rd weekend of September, combining funfairs, flower shows, old trades and arts and crafts.
Today, the event attracts over 150,000 visitors every year. For this 2025 edition, the theme is DOM-TOM, the guest of honor, for a weekend that promises sunshine on the plates and color in the streets.
What's on the menu? Over 350 exhibitors and a host of areas: Wine & Food Village, Local Producers' Market, Rural Pole, Crafts Area, Home & Garden Show, Car Show, Inventors' Festival and Leisure Area. And as a bonus, 80 fairground rides! With confectionery, bumper cars and bargains to tempt you. For the star of the weekend is also the Grande Braderie, on September 20 and 21, in the streets and shops ofArpajon.
In terms of entertainment, the festival will be in full swing, with dances, concerts, competitions, workshops, parades and motorcycle shows. This year's special guest: Miss France 2025, Angélique Angarni Filopon, will be on hand on Saturday September 20 at 2 p.m. (Porte d'Étampes traffic circle), then at 3:30 p.m. under the Halle.
Three days of jubilation as Arpajon is transformed into the festive capital ofEssonne.
