Have you ever wandered through the Basilica of Saint-Denis, the legendary resting place of French kings, at dusk? Usually open only during the day, this historic site opens its doors once again for the second edition of Exploration — a free, poetic evening walk conceived by the collective Les Poussières. This event takes place on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at 7:30 or 8:30 p.m., illuminated by lantern light and inviting you to explore alongside artists Fanny Papot, Laurine Claude, Baptiste Leroux, the troupe Commedia Nostra, and about forty young people from Aubervilliers.

At night, moonbeams filter through the stained glass windows, transforming the faces of the tombs and gravestones that line the basilica. This time-twisting visit will feature sculptures, playful lighting, music, and performances that animate your journey, highlighting the building’s architecture and its connection to water — all in an intimate, mysterious atmosphere.
This is a golden opportunity to discover this storied site through the eyes and creativity of young people aged 16 to 25 from Aubervilliers, who envisioned this walk and participated in workshops that you can witness during the evening. Two time slots are available, but don’t delay — reservations are free and mandatory via basilique@monuments-nationaux.fr. Please specify the number of participants and your preferred time.
