It’s a timeless day, a little magical bubble we love to indulge in every year thanks to the Vaux le Vicomte Estate: Saturday, May 23, 2026, marks the Grand Century Rendezvous! Prepare to step back into the 17th century, into the opulent celebrations of Nicolas Fouquet, Louis XIV’s Treasurer-General. This exceptional Saturday will feature period costumes, games, and a guided tour of the castle.
Welcome to Petit Versailles, a stunning palace that served as the inspiration for the Sun King’s grand castle. Today, we’re transported back to the 17th century for a lively, festive day where visitors are encouraged to don their finest period costumes. On this sunny May day, guests can imagine themselves as nobles of the royal court, enjoying the breathtaking setting of Vaux-le-Vicomte.
A day of Grand Siècle costumes, baroque dances, musketeer shows and horse-drawn carriage rides, for a unique experience of the French art of living at the time of Louis XIV and Nicolas Fouquet.
Children also take part in this festive day, with numerous games on offer in the gardens. Just like the children of the 17th century, your little princes and princesses can have fun admiring the water games in the park's fountains and pools.
Visitors of all ages can enjoy a musketeer show and a baroque dance demonstration. The château also offers horse-drawn carriage rides and a costume parade. At the end of the day, a fireworks display lights up the sky, bringing this magical experience to a close.
Costumes are not compulsory, but they do help to make the day even more magical... Once again this year, admission is by reservation only. Don't forget to reserve your place in advance!
