As every year, the festive gathering of what used to be the Gay Pride continues, now named the March of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and intersex Pride (LGBTQI+), a nationwide event championing equal rights for heterosexual people and LGBTQI+ individuals. This year, the edition originally scheduled for June 27 was canceled and postponed due to the heatwave. It will finally take place on Saturday, October 3, 2026.
So, what should you expect? Traditionally, the parade is preceded by a speech starting at 12:30 PM. The procession then sets off in the early afternoon through the streets of the capital. Upon arrival, the Paris Pride March makes way for the famous Podium; a festive, free event bringing together several musical artists from 4 PM to 10 PM. Moreover, it should be noted that the renowned Pride March has, since the 2023 edition, been marked by the absence of floats, in order to “pursue work on eco-responsibility and decarbonization of the event.”
What’s the route for this year’s 2026 edition of the LGBTQIA+ Pride March in Paris? Note that there’s a change from the route originally planned this summer. On Saturday, October 3, 2026, the parade will kick off at 1:00 PM from the Place d’Italie in the 13th arrondissement, heading toward Avenue des Gobelins, Rue Claude-Bernard, Rue Gay-Lussac, Boulevard Saint‑Germain, and then Boulevard du Palais. The Pride March will then cross Boulevard de Sébastopol before taking Rue de Rivoli and Rue Saint-Antoine for an expected finish at the Place de la Bastille.
This demonstration, held for the first time in France in 1981, brings together more than half a million people in the streets of Paris. This event, now a fixture on the calendar, is uniquely its own. It has to be experienced at least once to feel the buzz, the festive yet defiant atmosphere, and the simple objective at its heart: equality and respect.
