National Dog Week 2026: the schedule of canine events in Paris and Île-de-France

The week dedicated to Man's best friend returns for its 4th edition! From September 26 to October 4, 2026, the Centrale Canine launches its Semaine Nationale du Chien in Paris, across Île-de-France, and throughout France. For perspective, the Centrale Canine has been promoting the roles of dogs in French society since 1881; it is notably the body that maintains the Livre des Origines Français (LOF), the sole official registry recognised by the Ministry of Agriculture to certify purebred dog lineage and issue pedigrees.

To properly celebrate our beloved dogs, several events are being held in Paris and the Île-de-France region around the theme "The dog at the heart of our lives" to highlight the positive role of the dog and its talents in society, inform future owners about responsible adoption, and showcase the wide range of activities you can enjoy with your dog.

On the program: open days, animal welfare events, 100% dog days, sport with your dog, festivals and many other events organized by training and use clubs affiliated to the Centrale Canine, local dog associations, private and public structures such as the municipal police.
