Meaux Plage is back in action from July 8 to August 27, 2023, to the delight of young and old alike. On the program: free swimming in the Marne and a variety of activities.

Meaux Plage will be back from July 8 to August 27, 2023 to give you a taste of the vacations. Meaux Plage has become the summer rendezvous for many Meldois, Ile-de-France residents and tourists alike, and has been designed so that everyone, young and old, can enjoy all the pleasures and activities of the beach, in the heart of the Parc naturel du Patis. Imagine a beach of fine white sand in the heart of the Île-de-France region, bordered by clear emerald water. It's a real escape at the gateway to Paris.

With supervised swimming until 8pm on the banks of the Marne, young and old alike can cool off in complete safety. Six lifeguards supervise the swim, and according to the sports director, between 500 and 600 people take a dip every day in the 60m-long, 15m-wide, almost 4m-deep pool. And to complete the sandy beach atmosphere, dozens of tons of river sand are added every year for the comfort of bathers.

Here's an overview of the activities on offer at Meaux Plage:
Espace Baignade (11am to 8pm):

  • Supervised swimming in the Marne
  • Wading pool (bathing suit mandatory)

Espace Animation (Monday to Saturday 2 pm / 8 pm, Sunday 11 am / 8 pm):

  • Sports tournaments: Beach volleyball, Beach soccer, Badminton, Tennis ball
  • Games: Table tennis, Teqball, Table soccer, Mini golf
  • Arcade area: Gaming terminals, Pinball machine, Fairground punching machine
  • July 8 to 31: Ninja course
  • August 1 to 27: Tree climbing, Sand dune, Petanque field, Mölkky
  • Activities (3 pm / 6 pm, July 10 to August 25): Monday - Circus, Wednesday - Hip/Hop, Friday - Latin Dances

For an even more memorable experience, rent one of Marin d'Eau Douce's electric boats. Easy to pilot, these boats can accommodate from 5 to 11 people for unusual trips on the Marne.

Note that water quality is taken very seriously. Last summer, swimming was temporarily banned due to new European standards. However, water quality did not deteriorate. In 2022, the European Environment Agency (EEA) had classified the water as unsatisfactory following a change in European standards, leading to the closure of the bathing area for health reasons. But the good news for 2023 is that the EEA has classified the Meauxbathing area as good .

For families, children can have fun in theplay area, enjoy the inflatables, and take part in activities supervised by activity leaders. Sports enthusiasts can take part in beach volleyball, beach soccer, badminton tournaments and much more.

And for those who want to relax, Meaux Plage offers deckchairs to soak up the sun and the gentle breeze, as well as fast-food stands for refreshments and snacks.

Don't forget to take advantage of the guinguette atmosphere and the "Meaux-les-Bains" entertainment village, sure to delight the whole family.

Don't forget your bathing suit - it's compulsory! Enjoy your swim, with your partner, your friends or your family!
