Fans of Asian street food are in for a treat: the Festival de la Lune returns to Belleville in eastern Paris on Saturday, September 30, 2023. A district renowned for its gourmet cuisine, with its many Asian restaurants, as well as for hosting the famous Food Market, one Thursday a month!
On the program for this second edition of the Belleville Moon Festival is the celebration of the moon festival! Also known as the Mid-Autumn Festival, this event is the second most important celebration of the year in China and many other Asian countries, after New Year's Day. It's the day when the moon is at its fullest, roundest and brightest - a symbol of family unity and togetherness.
All day long, from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., gourmets and gourmands of all kinds are expected to attend this second edition, which will be officially inaugurated at 4 p.m. with the traditional lion dance to music. Then it's off to the various stalls for calligraphy workshops, and above all to sample Chinese, Korean, Japanese and Vietnamese specialties and dishes under the colorful lanterns! And don't forget to try the moon cakes, THE must-have dessert of this festival!
We're looking forward to a second edition just as delicious as the first!
