Anyone who frequents the Bay of Arcachon will be familiar with Dunes Blanches, the famous light cream puffs invented by Pascal Lucas in 2007 in Picquey, Cap-Ferret. Now you can find them in Paris!
But what is it, ask those who don't know? It's a fresh chouquette topped with Pascal's secret whipped cream. A happy marriage dreamed up after a party, it was an instant success, so much so that he registered the brand in July 2009.
He opened his first mono-product boutique in 2016 in Bordeaux's Golden Triangle. Building on his success, he continued with Arcachon in 2017. And now he's settling in Paris, in the Marais district.
The store's atmosphere is reminiscent of the seaside: light wood, white sand and rope are the order of the day. Don't look for 150 recipes: here, there's only one product and one fragrance, except on weekends when an ephemeral is announced on Monday on the shop's facebook page.
We're currently discovering ephemera created in partnership with Maison Mouton Cadet and its oenologist. We tested the white wine-yuzu version of the most famous.
Choux pastries are garnished on the spot as the day progresses, according to demand, guaranteeing a marriage of crunch and freshness. Count 1.30€ for a Dune Blanche and 7.20€ for 6. The ephemeral is 1.80€ for the weekend.
How about a little package to share (or not)?
Please note that it's been over 4 years since our last visit, so the place and experience may have changed.
