In these heatwave days, how about an ice cream? To get off the beaten track, we head to Fruttini by MO, an ice cream parlour in Paris's 6th arrondissement, near Le Bon Marché. It's a very special place, offering sorbets and ice creams. And with good reason: based on the principle of frosted lemons and oranges, the house offers sweet tooths the chance to discover a whole host of other fruits based on this concept... Kumkwats, kiwis, bananas, strawberries, passion fruit, dragon fruit, melons, almonds, walnuts, pears and avocados- you're in for a treat!
These ice-cream creations are no match for Cédric Grolet 's famous fruity trompe-l'œil! As unsweetened as a sorbet, as graphic as a pastry by the chef of Le Meurice, these fruits transport you into a whirlwind of incomparable flavors and refresh you all summer long. And a boutique open all year round, adapting to the seasons and ultimately offering a wider variety of fruit as the months go by.
Desserts that the editors had the privilege of testing. And we're not going to beat about the bush... We loved it! We were able to try almonds, a summer novelty for gourmets, as well as passion fruit. A true moment of gourmet freshness, and flavors of rare finesse, for a pleasure far from guilty. As for the almonds, there's no sorbet, just a smooth, mouth-watering ice cream. As for the passion fruit, we find all the flavors of the fruit, without its characteristic acidity.
Please note that it's been over 4 years since our last visit, so the place and experience may have changed.
