The history of Kama-Asa dates back to 1908, in the Kappabashi district of Tokyo. Since its creation over 100 years ago, the company has consistently promoted Japanese craftsmanship in the manufacture of kitchen utensils. Each one is handmade by family-run businesses in the four corners of Japan, with ancestral know-how.
In 2018, Kama-Asa opened its first store outside Japan, in Paris's Saint-Germain-des-Prés district. This boutique for handcrafted Japanese kitchen utensils has since become the HQ of the capital's Michelin-starred chefs, who come here to choose their finest utensils from a huge selection of 1,200 pieces (including 300 types of knives).
But Kama-Asa isn't just for prestigious chefs - on the contrary! La Maison Japonaise is also committed to bringing Japanese techniques and know-how to the capital's gourmets, through cooking classes and workshops, whether to learn Japanese techniques or culinary specialties.
