Mind the Gap! As the fine weather returns to the capital, good ideas are springing up all over Paris. Starting this spring, an ephemeral living space on the banks of the Seine is making a comeback at the foot of the BNF in Paris's 13th arrondissement. Plat/Form takes to the banks of the famous Parisian river for a second season, offering a 500m2 space dedicated to gourmet delights, art and festivities.

Each year, a monumental work of art adorns the terrace
Several dining spaces await us here: At the counter, a snack menu tempts with guilty pleasures like deviled eggs, pâté en croûte, and, for seafood lovers, oysters, plus pizzas and ice creams. In the restaurant, a bistro-style kitchen awaits, all while following that guiding thread that nods to the sunny days of summer.
All this goodness can be accompanied by wines from committed winemakers, as well as cocktails. But don't be fooled by the ultra-polished Signature creations here: Plat/form plays the card of well-executed simplicity, with classics sometimes given a twist. Special mention goes to the menu's flagship, the Plat/form, a refreshing, gourmet cocktail with cucumber and gin.
Here, it’s two rooms with two vibes. At the bar, you sink into poufs, eat with your fingers if you feel like it, and let the place groove to a DJ set. On the dining side, the same beat, but a different format: table service in an equally chill atmosphere. On weekends, the mood promises to be even more convivial as Plat/form invites us to enjoy a barbecue by the Seine.

A classic cocktail menu with a twist
This terrace on the banks of the Seine is mostly covered for those who prefer to be in the shade, but also has several sunny areas. So, even if it's raining or the weather is poor, you can still enjoy the experience. On the other hand, the address is not sheltered from the cold: you've been warned. On the other hand, when the weather's hotter, the spot really comes into its own!
Each season has welcomed a different slate of chefs. In 2024, Alexandre Marchon, a former Top Chef contestant, offered a bold cuisine bistronomique. In 2025, Chloé Charles, chef of Lago, showcased an eco-conscious approach with somewhat simpler recipes, proving that comforting flavors aren’t reserved for winter. For this 2026 edition, the spotlight shifts to Romain Brechignac and a Mediterranean-inspired kitchen that evokes the feel of the coast.
Adapting generosity to the sunny season, the chef reveals a cuisine that’s both bright and indulgent, echoing a setting that literally places your feet in the water—in a spot where swimming in the Seine has been allowed since last year. The menu shifts with the seasons, and you may not find every dish we mention on the day you visit. Still, it gives a sense of the spirit that animates the kitchen on this terrace along the quais de Seine.
Romain Brechignac doesn’t openly position his menu as Mediterranean cooking, yet the red thread runs through the tasting as an undeniable thread. The egg mayo à la bouillabaisse studded with poutargue offers a bold reinterpretation of this French classic, with pronounced saffron notes, while those who prefer a lighter starter can opt for the tuna carpaccio with kumquats—an exceptionally fresh plate that awakens the palate without spoiling the appetite for what’s next.
By the sea, you’ll fall for the ultra-tender octopus served with a lemon-confited purée that brings a bright, indulgent snap. For those who prefer something heartier, the spicy yogurt-marinated chicken with spinach salad and shoestring potatoes is the pick. The chili heat runs fairly high, but even the most delicate palates can breathe easy—the yogurt’s dairy notes temper the fire.

If there’s still room for dessert, you can finish with a fresh, indulgent finale: a sundae that’s the chef’s guilty pleasure, crafted the way he’d want it, with a chocolate center and house-made praline. After a sequence of fairly balanced plates, Romain Brechignac invites us to let loose and savor dessert.”
Art will also be present at Plat/Form, with "unique artistic experiences". Creations by some of the biggest names in street-art will be on display, including a monumental work, as well as live performances.
