The Fouquet's Paris Rooftop, perched on the 5th floor of the nowing palace in the 8th arrondissement, at the corner of the Champs-Élysées, is being reinvented entirely for summer 2026. This intimate new space, conceived as a Japanese-inspired hanging garden, invites us to rise above Avenue George V, with the rooftops of Paris as its backdrop. It’s a venue that now sits among the terrasses with views of Paris and Île-de-France, and a handy tip to tuck away for those balmy summer evenings.
The stage design draws its inspiration from hanami, that Japanese tradition that celebrates the ephemeral beauty of cherry blossoms. Lounge banquettes cloaked in lush greenery, sage-green hues, and soft pink accents evoke sakura, with a central bar open to the Parisian sky, creating an elegant, intimate setting—miles away from the buzz of the city’s grandest avenue, yet just a short stroll away.
On the food side, the menu bets on a Franco-Japanese fusion cuisine crafted for sharing, with a light, contemporary vibe. It features nigiri (salmon, tuna, seriola [amberjack] or otoro), a 9-piece sushi platter, hamachi sashimi and tataki, including a rather clever vegetarian version—watermelon and feta—for those hot summer evenings.
The gyozas with wagyu, finished with a truffled soy sauce, fresh-tuna tacos, and cedar-smoked beef or chicken yakitori round out this bite-sized option you can munch with the tips of your chopsticks.
For dessert, we’re tempted by shareable chouquettes or the black sesame cheesecake with passion fruit–yuzu sauce. Expect 12 to 38 euros for sharing plates, as befits a palace.
The bar also goes with the Land of the Rising Sun theme. Barbara Migliaccio Spina, Director of Mixology, curates a menu of signature cocktails with notes of yuzu, ginger, shiso, or cherry blossom, echoing creations like the Champagne Aoyama or the Sakura Shiro. Classic drinks (Margarita, Negroni Sbagliato, Whisky Sour) and a charming selection of non-alcoholic creations are also on the menu.
As the day winds down, the nu-jazz and mellow house vibe accompanies the sunset, before the DJ sets inspired by the Japanese electronic scene crank up the tempo after dark.
The rooftop at Fouquet's Paris welcomes you from Wednesday to Sunday, 5 p.m. to midnight, with no reservation required, at 46 Avenue George V in the 8th arrondissement, just a short walk from the George V metro station (Line 1). A chic yet relaxed dress code is in order, with closed-toe shoes required. The palace, flagship of the Barrière collection, has recently joined the exclusive circle of Parisian palaces. All details can be found on the official Rooftop page of Fouquet's Paris.
Note that the palace also conceals an indoor patio where you can lunch or dine in a green setting inside the Joy, just below.
We’re recommending this spot to anyone chasing a chic Paris rooftop for a refined afterwork, a sunset-facing tête-à-tête, or a night that builds in mood as it goes. Budget-minded wanderers should pass, but for a special occasion, a stop on the 5th floor is clearly worth it. Want to scout more perched spots?
