Normandy comes to Paris! The ice-cream maker Martine Lambert delights the 7th arrondissement with her artisanal recipes, impressively fruit-forward sorbets and addictive signature flavors, for a frosty stop just a stone's throw from the Invalides.

An icon of the coast normande has planted permanent roots in Paris. A true institution in Deauville and Trouville since its founding in 1976, the Martine Lambert house, taken over by her son François in 2009, offers its sole Paris address in the 7th arrondissement. Here, there’s no mystery: everything is handmade from start to finish, crafted in Normandy before arriving in the capital.

Knowing their products inside out, the team greets gourmets who step over the threshold with warmth. This expertise is immediately evident in the quality of the ice creams and sorbets, all crafted from rigorously selected raw materials, without additives, such as whole seasonal fruits straight from the producer, local farm cream and coffees from trusted roasters.

On the tasting front, the classic strawberry ice cream is perfectly executed, while the Ispahan variation stands out for its originality: a pink-tinged velvet ice cream scented with rose and raspberry, finished with a delicate, pale shard of lychee. Intensely rosy without tipping into cloying, this flavor proves dangerously addictive—even for those who usually shy away from floral notes.

Meanwhile, lovers of bold flavors will savor the coffee ice cream, with its frank, authentic taste of freshly ground beans.

You can stick with the traditional flavors, the house offering sorbets with remarkable finesse, such as the nectarine variety that literally tastes like biting into the fruit, but you can also opt for more surprising notes, like red lemon-basil, both sharp and very refreshing, with original creations such as the Bermuda (guava, strawberry, lime) or the classic Pomme cidre au calvados, a wink to its Norman roots.

We also found that you can switch from one flavor to another in the same pot without them blending on the palate, making it easy to savour and identify the different aromas. The option is available in a cone (add €1 for the chocolate-dipped version) or in a classic cup.

To extend the pleasure at home, the small shop just behind the street stall offers takeaway pots of your favorite flavors in single-serve (120 ml) or large (520 ml) sizes, as well as frozen desserts.

Priced at 4.30€ per scoop and 7.50€ for two scoops, these treats sit in the upper end of Parisian price ranges, a premium positioning that comes with a minimum 7€ purchase for card payments—so make sure you have cash on hand if you’re only ordering one scoop!

The venue, being without a standing counter or seating, is aimed exclusively at on-the-go tasters, who will hurry to join the grand lawn of the Invalides just a stone's throw away to savor their precious pass in peace, but the flavor is such that the ice cream might not hold up until then!
