In Saint-Denis (93), La Plaine Terre grows organic seeds, community‑oriented vegetables and agroecology, while offering tours, workshops and training all year round.

Through La Plaine Terre, the La SAUGE association is building an urban agroecological farm in the heart of Seine-Saint-Denis (93), in Saint-Denis. Nestled in a corner of the city undergoing transformation, this collective farm grows organic seeds for vegetables, herbs, and flowers, while offering community-supported vegetable boxes to local residents.

La Plaine Terre spans 2,000 square meters of cultivated land, with six greenhouses ranging from 15 to 35 meters in length and 30 varieties cultivated. Seeds produced on site are intended to be sown at the other La SAUGE farms, such as La Prairie du Canal in Bobigny and Terre Terre in Aubervilliers.

But Plaine Terre also positions itself as a hub for agroecology techniques training, open to all audiences. By engaging in garden work on the farm, anyone can learn how to cultivate food in a way that respects living systems, in line with the principles of agroecology. Note that the courses are aimed at professionals in urban or rural agriculture, people undergoing career changes, project leaders, and associations that also want to launch an urban farm.

For groups and companies, La Plaine Terre also offers solidarity days and tailor-made events: farm tours, outdoor activities, an introduction to the principles of agroecology, or a beginner’s course in eco-construction. A way to break away from the classic classic seminar and come together around a useful activity, hands in the soil.

La Plaine Terre in Saint-Denis caters to the curious about urban farms, to beginner gardeners, to local residents, to families, to volunteers and to professionals seeking training. People go there to visit, learn, sow, participate in a workshop, and discover seed production...
