La Tamise, the 4* boutique hotel a stone's throw from the Tuileries

In the Tuileries district, the Hotel La Tamise has been a haven of peace for British and American guests since 1878. Closed for renovation, and bought by the Esprit de France group, which owns 9 boutique hotels in Paris, this hotel is back with a new, cosier atmosphere, inviting us to relax.

The idea was to"highlight the soul of this 19th-centurymansion with an attention to detail specific to the world of couture, linked to its history and the neighborhood" and to make it a place where eras respond to each other, where architectural styles blend and complement each other.

This private mansion and its 19 rooms have been restored while retaining their original features: stained glass windows, cement tiles and parquet floors enhance a modern style punctuated by authentic touches. The grand dinners where models, ambassadors and painters mingled, the "grand tours" of new American graduates - all these still haunt the premises.
