Techno icon Dave Clarke unveils his photographic universe at Jardin21 to mark his birthday party at Mia Mao. Catch a photo exhibition at Jardin21 from September 16 to 26, and an exceptional edition of Off The Grid, his residency night at Mia Mao, on Saturday, September 19.

A staple of international techno, Dave Clarke unveils at the season’s start a new facet of his artistic universe through a double event: a photo exhibition at Jardin21 from 16 to 26 September and a special edition of Off The Grid, his residency night at Mia Mao, Saturday, 19 September.

“SHOTS”: Dave Clarke’s first photo exhibition in Paris.

Through portraits and urban exploration photography, the SHOTS exhibition extends Dave Clarke's nocturnal and singular universe from 16 to 26 September at Jardin21, free entry.

Electronic music artists, personalities with punk and alternative sensibilities, urban landscapes... Dave Clarke builds a black-and-white gallery that mirrors his musical identity. Photography offers him another avenue to narrate the cities he crosses, the people he meets, and the atmospheres that nourish his sonic universe.

Dave Clarke picked up photography as a kid with his father’s camera, then shelved the medium to focus full-time on music. He gradually returns to images around 2016, drawn by the possibilities of digital tools. Landscapes, buildings and portraits are shaped by the music he loves and the cities he threads through on tour. Shown at Jardin21, "SHOTS" marks his second solo show, following In The Shatter Light, unveiled in 2024 at Leica Gallery Amsterdam.

Conceived as the extension of his Off The Grid residency as a DJ at Mia Mao, this exhibition gathers portraits of artists who performed at Dave Clarke's nights at Mia Mao, including Curses, Louisahhh and Risa Taniguchi, as well as photographs used in the project's graphic identity over the past two years. It traces the residency's history through its artists, its encounters, and the images that have accompanied it.

“Off The Grid”: back to the roots of clubbing

On Saturday, September 19, Dave Clarke will extend the exhibition experience with a fresh edition of Off The Grid, staged on his birthday at Mia Mao.

During his residency at Mia Mao, Dave Clarke champions an experience focused on music, the dancefloor, and collective energy. In counterpoint to the overexposure of DJs, phones, and self-promotion, his Off The Grid nights advocate a more direct club culture where the music and the audience experience come first. The lineup for this night, running from 11pm to 7am, sits at the crossroads of techno, acid, new wave, breakbeat, and electro, featuring an exceptional live set by L.F.T., Candy Cox, David Shaw And The Beat, Louisahhh and, of course, Dave Clarke.
