On Saturday September 19, 2026, the forecourt of the Rights of Man, at the foot of the Trocadéro (Paris 16th), will host Le Jeu de l'Oie Monumental, an immersive mural spanning nearly 200 m² conceived by artist Gwendoline Finaz de Villaine, with the collaboration of illustrator Pauline Lévêque. Before making its way to the Trocadéro, the installation debuted on Madison Avenue, right in the heart of Manhattan, during Bastille Day organized by L'Alliance New York. There, it drew more than 60,000 visitors.
Its arrival in Paris is no accident. The work features in the celebrations of the 250 years of Franco-American friendship, letting the symbols of the two cities speak to each other across 63 panels. Gwendoline Finaz de Villaine has been developing for several years a body of work that pulls painting out of its frame to inhabit public space. Joining him is Pauline Lévêque, bringing a delicate, elegant line to the work. An illustrator and former journalist now based in New York, she has since 2025 been responsible for the illustrated page inherited from Jean-Jacques Sempé in Paris Match.
