Paris Design Week 2026 : unconventional, large-format creations that won’t go unnoticed

There is design that slips into interiors, and the one that wants to take over the space. The Paris Design Week strikes the right balance between the two, with creations of all sizes scattered across the capital. From September 10 to 19, 2026, the event invites you to encounter familiar objects reimagined at different scales, structures to walk through, or pieces whose very shape sparks curiosity. Design allows for a few detours, and that’s often where the eye lingers.

For this selection, we’re looking for unconventional or large-format installations that push beyond the frame. An XL table, a pavilion, furniture with unusual proportions, or a piece set up right in the heart of the city: designers are playing with volume, bending the rules at times, and making the most of available space to push their ideas further. Unusual is not just about size: an installation can also grab attention with an unexpected detail, a quirky function, or an original way of taking ownership of the space. Some invite you to walk through them, others to sidestep around or view from multiple angles. In short, when design goes big or chooses to take a sideways step, we naturally take a closer look.
