“Wine and dine”: so is Le P’tit Louis’s motto, the new Parisian place by Bertrand Guillou-Valentin. Nestled in Paris 5th arrondissement, this wine bar provides about 500 references pairing a menu created by Mélanie Serre highlighting delicious plates to share.

If you feel like having a seat in a place both chic and laid-back, to have a nice glass of wine, then what is coming may delight you. We have found a new spot you may spend a great deal of time in! Nestled in Paris 5th arrondissement, Le P’tit Louis is the latest Parisian location designed by Bertrand Guillou-Valentin – already behind Louis Vins set a stone’s throw from there. The very nice and dynamic entrepreneur has created a wine bar to his image: both chic and laid-back. We must say he has been hanging to his passion for wine since he met Anthony Olivier in 2008, aka his mentor and manager of the “Marchand de soif” company in Saint Emilion.

After many tasting sessions and multiple visits in the vineyards, Bertrand is tackling a new challenge by opening this wine bar gathering over 500 references including incredible wines (Muscadet cuvée Granite from Domaine de l’Ecu, vintage 2012), exclusive vintages (Domaine du Compte Liger-Belair, Domaine Mugneret Gibourg), ready-to-drink bottles and even rare bottles (Bourgogne aligoté, Domaine Roulot 2014), and some old vintages.

The bar also serves wine by the glass, between €6.50 (Côte du Rhône 2020 – Domaine Château Mont Redon) and €12 (Haut Médoc 2014 – Château Malescasse) when it comes to the red, and between €6.50 (Côtes du Rhône 2020 – Domaine Château Mont Redon) and €10 (Pinot Gris 2016 – Domaine Trimbach) when it comes to the white.

For this new place, Bertrand Guillou-Valentin has surrounded himself with a dream team starting with Thibault Poëlvilain working in the dining room and behind the bar. As for Cléo Schreiber, she has been entrusted with the magnificent decoration of the place. Thanks to pastel hues, Le P’tit Louis is a genuine invitation to travel. We can see ourselves in South of France, in a family home in Cap Ferret. Once seated on the terrace or in the elegant – but very friendly – indoor dining room, we can treat ourselves to a delightful break, both exotic and indulging.

For alongside Betrand Guillou-Valentin, also stands Mélanie Serre – already behind the Louis Vins’s menu. For Le P’tit Louis, the chef has come up with delicious dishes, already available in the other Louis restaurant. We loved the beetroot curry with cumin with crunchy socca, and the staple homemade rabbit terrine with thyme, candied fruits and hazelnuts, served with pickled vegetables.

The menu also features original cold cuts from Maison Carrère such as 100% beef dry sausage, some delicious smoked and dried duck’s breast, and Lardo di Colonnata’s style lomo. Are you calling for more? Go for the Cap Ferret oysters, or the oil sardines from the Mediterranean… The whole is served with bread by Jean-Luc Poujauran.

Le P’tit Louis’s watchword is wine. I have made many discoveries thanks to Bertrand; bottles I have never tried elsewhere. I wanted to create dishes you can nibble on while wine-tasting”, Mélanie tells us.

So, are you ready to discover vintages you never thought you would try?
