TLM is the spot that's waking up the Little Belt in Paris's 19th arrondissement. After closing for renovation, the TLM, located at 105 rue Curial in Paris's 19th arrondissement, reopened on March 26, 2024. This project, initiated by the Au fil du Rail collective following a call for projects from the SNCF, transforms a former railway hall into a living space dedicated to culture, sustainable fashion and responsible food, with the ultimate aim of bringing together all publics from all walks of life.

Head for the capital's 19th arrondissement to rediscover TLM, the solidarity spot that has set up shop along the petite ceinture, theformer railroad line that surrounds Paris. This neighborhood nugget has been waiting for you since March 26, 2024, in a renovated former railway hall, to share its many ethical and responsible concepts.

Some of you may remember, but the TLM already opened its doors in 2022 for 6 months in a test format to test the waters. After 16 months of hard work, the place is now open to us, renovated, with new spaces created, a real kitchen up to standard and street-side access. The refurbishment is a prime example of the circular economy and re-use, since virtually all the materials used on site were salvaged.

The ceiling canvas turns out to be an old hot-air balloon, while the stage curtain already has a history, having been used for a Jay-Z concert at the Fondation Louis Vuitton. The bar's bricks come from the Maison Château Rouge ephemeral cultural center at Tati Barbès. Virtually everything is salvaged, right down to the toilet tiles, which come from the leftovers of local residents.

It's beautiful, it's new, but it's already steeped in history. It's a story that's being written in collaboration with local associations, residents and the recycling industry.

What exactly is TLM? Its name derives from its original function: "Transport Logistique de Marchandise", as the site was once a coal delivery station. Imagine 4 neighborhood associations whose ambition was to reclaim this spot, squatted at the time, and turn it into a solidarity project. A project which, against all expectations, pleased the SNCF, as they won the call for projects.

The spot's vocation is to be a place of life that revolves around three aspects: culture, food and fashion. Through its good deals and committed partners, the TLM aims to liven up the 19th arrondissement of the capital by contributing to neighborhood life. With its 600m² entirely devoted to culture in all its forms, the TLM promises a rich and eclectic program: concerts, theater, themed evenings, DJ sets, open stages, ballroom dancing, debates, workshops and conferences. It's a lively space, open to all ages and all hours, reflecting the diversity and cultural richness of the capital.

The first floor is dedicated to circular fashion, hosting the second address of Textilerie, a creative space focused on textile recycling (clothes, sometimes worn, are recovered and reused), as well as the new Fab'lab of the International Fashion Academy (IFA).

The second floor is home to a catering area run by Mam'Ayoka, a committed caterer offering world cuisine while promoting the professional reintegration of women. A varied menu, reflecting the different origins of the chefs, is on offer from Tuesday to Sunday. The place's primary objective is social diversity. The TLM aims to attract the whole of Paris, as well as members of local social associations. While the beer comes from the Brasserie de l'être in Paris, the coffee, sodas and syrups will be available on a no-margin basis.

This floor also features a bar and open stage, which aims to become the new place to be for emerging artists and amateur DJs in the area. An intimate mezzanine completes the ensemble, allowing for the organization of events and activities linked to the programming. These include screenings, ballroom dance evenings... Please note that all events, whether theater, concerts or musical evenings, are free of charge.

As the icing on the cake, the TLM also boasts a 250m² outdoor terrace, a veritable haven of peace away from the hustle and bustle of Paris, ideal for eating out, chilling out, playing games or simply soaking up the sun.

It's the fruit of close collaboration between various local associations and organizations, including the Rosa Parks social center,Espace 19, Couleurs Pont de Flandres, the IFA Paris fashion school, La Textilerie and the Grand 8 architectural firm, all coordinated by the Bellevilles real estate company. This collaborative dynamic is at the heart of the TLM's success, perfectly illustrating how the union of local forces can generate large-scale projects.

In short, if you're looking for a place to chill out in the sun, learn how to sew, have fun every night with a different kind of entertainment, wear sustainable clothing or discover tasty, solidarity-based cuisine, or even have a gourmet brunch on Sundays, this is a new place you'll have to try out. TLM promises to be The Place where you'll love to go.
