Paris has it all. Gaming rooms, bars, cocktail bars, game bars... And if you want to combine all these elements in a single outlet, where do you go? The answer is rue Saint-Denis, in the Les Halles district: the retrogaming bar Player One is the solution to all your desires!
This colorful place, with its playful, good-natured atmosphere, is the perfect spot to have fun with friends. Spread over two floors, this bar takes us back to our favorite geek universes: on the first floor, we're transported back to the 80s and 90s, with retro games, movie posters, video game magazines...
We then descend into a large room that mixes the worlds ofHarry Potter, Lord of the Rings and all those fantastic and magical worlds. Finally, there's a smaller, more intimate room based on space worlds: can you identify all the references to Star Wars, Star Trek, Alien, Starship Troopers...?
The original menu is based on universes well known to geeks: Harry Potter, Disney, Star Wars and other animated series cocktails await you. All are presented in unusual glasses reminiscent of the works from which they are inspired. Enjoy the Castlevania cocktail served in a blood bag, the Razmoket cocktail presented in a baby bottle, or the Mushu, served in a mug bearing the effigy of Mulan's famous dragon.
For our part, we opted for a house classic, the Polynectar, a cocktail made with rum, passion fruit juice and peach syrup inspired by the Harry Potter saga. A real delight, sweet and well-balanced: the rum makes itself felt without imposing too much. We also love the presentation of this cocktail: it arrives in a cauldron mug, embossed with the Hogwarts coat of arms, and steaming like a magic potion!
The Beauty and the Beast cocktail (gin, rose liqueur, fresh mint, cranberry, cucumber, lime, basil) is a real beauty. It arrives under cloche, hidden in a cloud of smoke, reminiscent of the enchanted rose from the Disney fairy tale.
Among the cocktails, there are also several new non-alcoholic cocktails (including a biraubeurre available in soda or alcoholic versions), and a wide variety of original geek beers.
The Player One menu evolves regularly, and new cocktails and worlds can be added. For an evening out with friends, consider ordering Battleship - a drinking game based on the classic game - or Quidditch pong, the witch's version of beer pong.
Player One also stands out as one of the capital's most original game bars. For example, it was the first in France to have a table where you could play the famous video game Pong! Giant Pac-man on the wall, huge gameboy, game consoles of all generations, arcade terminals and board games: there's something for every taste and desire. These games are available for free and unlimited access in the different areas of the bar.
If you're a fan of themed evenings, we suggest you take a look at Player one's social networks: game events are organized once a week (karaoke, N'oubliez pas les paroles, pop culture quiz, blind test...) and a big themed evening takes place once a month. These convivial, fun-filled moments immerse us in our favorite worlds.
So, which pop-culture universe is tempting you tonight?
