Hotel Le Collectionneur and its new cozy bar expect you to make you discover their new teatime with childhood flavors, designed by the hotel pastry chef, Bryan Esposito.

Foodies unite! it’s time to have a break at the new chic and cozy bar of Hotel du Collectionneur to enjoy a regressive and mouthwatering teatime, comfortably seated.

After a few months of work, the bar is now embellished with a new identity, the one of the Collectionneur’s magpie with blue hues and adorned with golden objects. We love the both modern and chic – yet cozy – décor of the place.

Let’s have a seat on one of the velvet blue bench seats to discover the different pastries available on the menu. Here, it’s not really a teatime, it’s far from the conventional afternoon tea of the palaces, but the chef offers us to enjoy a genuine afternoon snack including a selection of hot drinks along with 3 pastries for €29.

To create this afternoon snack then, hotel pastry chef Bryan Esposito has been inspired by his childhood memories. So, it’s a whole range of sweet treats reminding us of the afternoon snack classics that we are provided.

We discover a marbled cake ball coated in dark chocolate and cocoa nibs, a crispy puff rice bar and gianduja crémeux coated in silver dark chocolate – like a Kinder Country – but with a twist since it has fizzy sugar inside.

We fall for the Sphère Flash Back, a beautiful entremets combining milk mousse soaked in cereals, milk heart and puff cereal base with gianduja and fizzy sugar.

And whoever speaks about afternoon snacks also means madeleine. Here, the chef offers us a delicious version with homemade hazelnut praline heart and copper dark chocolate shell.

If like me, you love a good flan, you’ll be happy. A traditional flan, very creamy with vanilla liquor and a savory crust, so good.

Let’s wrap it up with the Cookie Voyageur [Traveling Cookie], a cookie combining goji berries, dried apricot and milk chocolate. Crispy and smooth, it’s a winner.

This afternoon snack is said to change according to seasons and the chef’s creativity, obviously.

Let’s try it, then, shall we?
