This is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful yule logs 2020, coming straight out of the forest.... Trianon Palace Versailles pastry chef Eddie Benghanem wished to work on a theme dear to him, the enchanted forest, in the light of his two passions: elves and children's stories.
The outcome? A yule log reminding us of the Ents in the Lord of the Rings and Grandmother Willow in Pocahontas (got it?). The chef thought about it a lot during lockdown. This is hard to think this is a cake, and for good reason, since this is only the box of the real cake hidding inside. And why a box? Because Eddie Benghanem is greedy and he always provides chocolate to enjoy with a up of coffee at the end of the meal!
After blowing away journalists, the chef offers us to taste his entremets - serving 8 - for the end of the meal. On a hazelnut macaron cookie base, very light and airy toasted vanilla mousse. To twist it up a bit, the chef added some lemon cream and crunchy praline. Verdict? The entire family will love it. It is very sweet and smooth for children, with this lemony - but not sour - hint that will please adults.
Besides, chocolates shaped like very cute animals, perfect on your centerpiece. Inside, this delicious chocolate created by Trianon Palace teams. Little gems likely to delight children and grown-ups.
The only flaw, to impress your guests, you have to go and get your yule log at Trianon Palace Versailles. But the good thing is we can still make it and enjoy lunch at Gordon Ramsay au Trianon restaurant.
