Mochi Mochi Aki, this is the latest indulging store opened by Aki Paris back in February. Calling all Japanese treat fans, this is time to go and discover it, and indulge yourselves.
When coming in, the store is not too big and enjoys a self-service configuration. You only have to get what you want and pay at the checkout.
The fresh section includes:
A nice range of melon pains. Melon pain or pain melon is a Japanese pastry made of classic bun covered in a fine layer of cookie dough. It tastes like a sugar dough with some craquelin over it. At Aki, the melon pains are also available as burgers and filled with crème patissière, whipped cream, and other delights.
When we came, we then discovered the melon pain burgers flavored with strawberry-lemon, black sesame-matcha, raspberry-matcha, and even Sakura (cherry tree blossom), really delicious.
Also on the menu, mochis, of course. Based on matcha, Sakura, or other flavors to discover.
Then, you have dorayaki, and other donuts available in the section.
As for savory, you will be delighted. There are the famous onigiris, and bento boxes for a simple but effective meal.
In other words, if you happen to be craving Japanese food, you have the address: 28 rue Saint-Anne in Paris 1st arrondissement, a stone’s throw from the famous eponymous bakery.
