Whether you're into traditional mochi or iced mochi, here's some news that should delight you. Since 2020, a new Maison du Mochi address has been open to us.
In fact, it's at 120 rue de Turenne in the 3rd arrondissement that the new boutique-teahouse awaits us very soon. So, if the Maison du Mochi in the 6th arrondissement was too far away for you, this should be the place to satisfy your sudden craving for mochi.
As a reminder or for those who don't know (it happens), mochi is a ball-shaped pastry of Japanese origin made from glutinous rice and filled with all sorts of different flavors. They come in a traditional version that's super-soft and slightly rubbery, and an iced version that's firmer.
Matchamochi, almond mochi or traditional mochi with red beans or black sesame, from the simplest to the most surprising, they'll all soon end up in your mouth, because to begin with mochi from home is to adopt it.
At the opening, we were able to discover the new products of the moment: the excellent Sakura ephemeral mochi, covered in its cherry leaf, and Chocomo, the chocolate Easter mochi with toasted buckwheat, praline and vegan chocolate in collaboration with Laurent Duchêne.
This new address comprises a boutique and a larger Salon de Thé area than the first address. It's the ideal place to relax and enjoy a delicious cup of tea with mochi.
Enjoy your mochis!
