Previously available only online, La Maison du Mochi opened its very first boutique in the 6th arrondissement in 2019. The artisanal mochi specialist set up shop on rue du Cherche Midi, in the heart of the 6th arrondissement.
Parisians are in for a treat: no more waiting for delivery, now you can serve yourself on the spot and enjoy these famous little Japanese balls wrapped in glutinous rice and a heart of Anko, a sweet Azuki paste. A sweet treat to enjoy with a tea or herbal tea for the perfectsnack break .
For the record, La Maison du Mochi was created in 2016 by Mathilda Motte following her trip to Japan, where she was introduced to the art of making mochi. Available seasonally, this little pastry is a hit because it's gluten-free, 100% plant-based and fat-free.
And for those who can't make it to the store, there's always the option of going online, where you can indulge in mochi with matcha tea, hazelnut, black sesame, almond or yuzu. Made in Touraine, the mochi arrive fresh and moist, but we can't wait to discover La Maison du Mochi in the flesh.
The House of Mochi Right Bank
La Maison du Mochi also awaits you at its second Paris address on the Right Bank in the Haut-Marais district. Head for rue de Turenne to discover this new tearoom and sample the capital's finest mochi. [Read more]
