Sausalito is the new restaurant in the 9th arrondissement. A cross between a bistro and a wine cellar, it offers bistro-style cuisine as elegant as it is tempting, all served in a warm and inviting setting. Gourmet friends, let's go there!

Slowly but surely, the Sausalito restaurant is making its home in Paris. Located on rue de Maubeuge in the 9th arrondissement, just a few strides from Gare du Nord station, it promises cuisine typical of the new bistros that are adding to the already extensive catalog of Parisian culinary establishments: gastronomic, yet affordable!

A successful gamble for the Sausalito team! Behind the project are chef David John Kelly, formerly of 6 Paul Bert, Pierre Rammaert (ex-Frenchie Londres), Antoine Couturier (ex-Big Mamma) and two entrepreneurial brothers, Martin and Basile Beaupère. A fine line-up of gastronomy enthusiasts who, with their complementary backgrounds, aim to offer no-nonsense cuisine.

Halfway between a relaxed bistro and a wine cellar for good friends, the pumpkin-colored facade with no unnecessary frills matches the wooden chairs on the terrace. Inside, a pleasant zinc floor and an open kitchen instantly project us into our future plate. In the dining room, high tables, long counters and more intimate consoles combine in a harmonious decor, mixing brick walls, raw materials and "safari jungle" wallpaper.

On the plate, you'll find a wine bar atmosphere and plates to share, with everything from veal croquettes and ribs to comté mushroom and beetroot-goat salads. And don't forget to try the octopus with chorizo! All accompanied by a lively, natural wine list. At lunchtime, as in the evening, while waiting for your friends, you can enjoy a nice glass of "Le Petit Oratoire", with a menu that changes daily, according to the season and the mood.

So, what more do we need for a great evening with friends?

Please note that it's been over 4 years since our last visit, so the place and experience may have changed.
