An Japonaise: two simple words to describe one of the capital's excellent Japanese restaurants. After giving pride of place to Japanese cuisine in all its forms, the place has now changed its formula and become a bistro dedicated to Wagyu Gyudon... So, are you ready for take-off?

If you've ever had the chance to travel to Japan, then you know. Yes, you know what I'm talking about, and you're familiar with the unique flavors, impeccable service and unbeatable hospitality. Since then, you've been on a never-ending quest to find the rare gem that will make you relive that memorable trip to Paris. Why not visit An Japonaise. Nestled in the 2nd arrondissement, not far from the Sentier metro station, this little restaurant opened its doors on June 27, 2020.

Behind this authentic table is Omatsu France, a company founded in February 2020 by Takeshi Shimoda. Its mission? To offer a place in the capital that is as welcoming as it is gourmet, and that makes Japanese home cooking attractive.

To achieve this, An Japonaise relies first and foremost on quality products (ingredients, seasonings, spirits) imported from Japan. Then there's the cuisine and the menu. Since it opened, An Japonaise has emphasized authenticity and simplicity with a touch of modernity. Loyal customers have enjoyed Japanese tapas worthy of Japan's finest izakayas.

In September 2022, An Japonaise is breaking new ground by becoming a Wagyu Gyudon bistro exclusively. This specialty, which features the famous Japanese Wagyu beef and onions simmered over a bowl of rice, has become the signature dish served at An Japonaise since its reopening on September 6. Gyudon is one of the most popular dishes in Japan. In fact, in the Land of the Rising Sun, there are more restaurant chains dedicated to Gyudon than to sushi!

Specifically, An Japonaise offers three different sizes of Gyudon, for lunch only (medium at 11€, medium Wagyu plus at 15€ and large at 20€). We've fallen head over heels for this generous, ultra-gourmet dish, which is a great opportunity to discover and enjoy Wagyu beef at an affordable price!
