How about having a feast in Boulogne? Le Petit Comte, this is the name of the restaurant recently taken over by Julia and Julien Zanon, already managing Gemini Family eateries. The spot enjoys a charming outdoor terrace, a very classic-looking bistro, and a surprising and lush room hidden inside to have everyone and throw fabulous receptions.
On the menu, seasonal and French dishes are served. Tradition is the watchword and you can expect tasty dishes.
As a starter, we went for the green asparagus stir, balsamic, and delicious and well-seasoned fried soft-boiled egg. We loved the fish tartare with guacamole, candied lemon and red pickles as well.
As mains, sirloin steak, chicken breast and cod with lemon are available. As for us, we got the excellent and hearty daily special: roast veal fillet and morel sauce, served with white asparagus from Val de Loire and homemade mashed potatoes. Perfect cooking, divine gravy, we loved it.
As for my partner, he got the timeless Andouillette from the “Association Amicale des Amateurs d’Andouillettes Authentiques” [The Friendly Union of Lovers of Authentic Andouillettes], served with potatoes.
As for desserts, let us stick to tradition with profiteroles, chocolate mousse, Colonel (lemon sorbet with vodka), or the very, very indulging floating island served in a copper saucepan to delight sweet-toothed patrons.
In other words, if you are looking for a great bistro serving enjoyable traditional French cuisine, you know where to go.
