It's one of the most discreet and intriguing addresses in Paris: the Chalet des Iles, located on the island of the Bois de Boulogne lake. A beautiful residence so isolated from everything that you have to take a barge to get there. The result is well worth seeing, with a restaurant in the heart of this historic gem, a genuine Swiss chalet transported to Paris in parts forEmpress Eugenie.
In the New Year, Chalet des Îles is set to reopen its doors in April, following months of renovation. Set in the heart of unspoilt nature, on two hectares of land where an entire ecosystem lives out its little life in the greatest of calm, the chalet has been entirely redesigned byarchitect Nicolas Laisné to harmonize and reconcile the facades with history.
In fact, the use of wood in the pediment of the main façade and the triangular tiles recall the original Swiss building of 1855. The idea here is to blend seamlessly into the surrounding nature, with beige, blue and green tones and landscaped fencing.
Inside, the bar, committed restaurant and sunny terrace are ready to welcome back Parisians in search of peace and quiet. Just a few more months of patience!
