Bad news for lovers of electronic music. The organizers of the Techno Parade in Paris have announced the cancellation of this not-to-be-missed festive event in 2025. The free musical event, which brings electronic music and culture to the streets of Paris every year, will not be making a comeback this autumn. Financial problems are cited as the reason. We recall that the 2024 edition had also been cancelled, due to the organization of the Olympic Games.

Every year in September, electro music fans gather in Paris to dance to the beats sung by the Techno Parade floats. After the 2024 edition was cancelled due to the organization of the Olympic Games, the biggest electronic music event will not be returning to Paris in 2025.

In a message published on social networks, the organizers of the electro event announced the cancellation of this 2025 edition, for the second year running."The next edition will take place in 2026, this year being marked by a reflection with partners - public and private - on a renewed model for the Techno parade, more than 25 years after its creation. As the event is mainly supported by private brands, these are increasingly difficult to mobilize. We have therefore decided to rethink our financing model, working with partners on a long-term basis, in order to preserve our event and keep it alive over the long term", explains the Technopol association.

So, should regulars of this flagship musical event in Paris fear the end of the Techno Parade, or can they look forward to its return in 2026? In the same message published on social networks, the organizers state that they are"actively working" and have alreadyreceived "expressions of interest from private partners wishing to support the event". The organizers of the Paris Techno Parade look forward to seeing electro music fans in September 2026.

Jack Lang, the man behind the Techno Parade, was quick to react to this latest cancellation. Interviewed by AFP on July 17, the former Minister of Culture described the cancellation as " a humiliation for Paris, France and the French Touch, at a time when President Macron has proposed that the French Touch, which brings together the big names in electro music, be included in UNESCO's list of intangible heritage ".

At the last edition, in 2023, lovers of electro music took to the streets of the capital on September 23 for a historic edition. And with good reason: the Techno Parade celebrated its 25th anniversary. This anniversary edition also marked 25 years of struggle and commitment to the preservation of electronic music culture.

Officially launched in France in 1998 by Technopol, the Techno Parade was created with the support of former French Minister of Culture Jack Lang, on the model of Berlin's " Love Parade ", inaugurated less than 10 years earlier. In its 25 years of existence, the Techno Parade has attracted over 7 million fans from all over France and neighboring countries to dance to the sound of electro music.

In 2023, the huge electro parade set off from Place de la Bastille to Place de la Nation, via Boulevard des Filles du Calvaire, Place de la République and Boulevard Voltaire.

During this anniversary edition, the Techno Parade organizers also took the opportunity to reiterate their numerous demands, including the inclusion of electronic music in France's cultural heritage, fair treatment for those involved in electronic music, and the creation of reception areas for electronic music events and festivals.
