Every year, up to half a million festivalgoers are counted. This event has been happening since 1930 on the initiative of the French Communist Party media outlet. Yes, I am talking about the famous Fête de l’Humanité, also known as Fête de l’Huma!
After being forced to cancel the edition 2020 because of the health crisis, the Fête de l'Huma returned in September 2021, in La Courneuve, Seine-Saint-Denis. A very special edition as it was the last one held in La Courneuve, at the Aire des Vents, property of the Seine-Saint-Denis department.
Set by the Aire des Vents du Parc Georges Valbon in La Courneuve since 1999, the Fête de l'Huma has announced it will find a "new place because of the constuction of the upcoming Medias village for the Paris Olympic and Paralympic Games 2024". So, where will the Fête de l'Huma be held this Fall 2022? At the former 217 air base in Plessis-Pâté, set in Essonne. The iconic festival created in 1930 by Marcel Cachin - director of L'Humanité - is about to start a new chapter with this "redesigned" and "really exclusive" 2022 edition.
To enjoy it, meet on Friday September 9, Saturday 10, and Sunday 11, 2022. As per usual, the festival is expected to deliver an ecclectic program: music, a book village, many performing art performances, without forgetting deabtes, panels and conferences.
In terms of music, although several artists already took part in the festival including Stevie Wonder, Cesaria Evora, Texas, Jimmy Cliff, Lindsey Stirling, Johnny Hallyday. Who will have the honor to take part to this new edition held for the first time in Essonne? Well, Sexion d'assaut, Dutronc & Dutronc, Kungs and Gauvain Sers and Camélia Jordana have been announced. Wanna know more? Christophe Maé, Benjamin Biolay, Deluxe, or L'Impératrice will be there too. A piece of advice, book tickets now!
