With its Royal Serenade, the Palace of Versailles makes us live the entertainments of the Sun King’s Court for a 40-minute guided tour. Brace yourself to attend a dance lesson and a fencing show on Saturdays from June 13 to September 19, 2020.

(Re)discover the Grands Appartements of the Palace of Versailles this summer with the King’s Valet, for a 40-minute visit, meeting baroque musicians and dancers: The Royal Serenade.

From the Hercules Room to the Marbled Room via the Hall of Mirrors, the Royal Serenade immerses you within the Sunk King’s Versailles, discovering activities offered to the King.

The tour starts with a collective poetry lesson, then the king’s valet invites children and adults to attend a chamber music recital in the hall of the Royal Chapel.

For 10 minutes, carefully listen to the musicians, before being invited to go the Hall of Mirrors: all along the tour, discover the King’s chamber and his apartments.

In the magnificent Hall of Mirrors, at dusk, attend a funny sketch, the reception of the sultan at the court, a show between dance and burlesque to make children and adults laugh. The magic happens, but you shall take a few minutes to get a nice spot in the hall, because groups are made of 100 people and it can be hard to enjoy the show if you stay at one ends or in the middle of the room.

Last but not least, the king’s valet offers us to attend a wild fencing duel in the Hall of Battles, the biggest rooms of the palace gatherings paintings representing all battles that marked history starting from Clovis’ victory in Tolbiac.

At the end of the 45 minutes, children are over the moon and discover colorful characters they will remember.

In other words, if you want to introduce your children or enjoy a staged tour in Versailles, the Royal Serenade is made for you. Held on Saturday all summer long, this tour enables to enjoy the musical gardens during the day with the Fountains Shows and the fireworks of the Night Fountains Shows.
