Something new is coming to Disneyland Paris! The Parisian theme park invites you to discover Avengers Campus, a new land devoted to Marvel superheroes, opening on July 20, 2022. And on the menu, two rides, three restaurants, two food trucks, a Meet & Greet and a store. It has it all to keep fans of Iron Man, Black Widow, Doctor Strange, Captain Marvel, Spider Man, Thor and Loki very busy.
What to expect then? According to Disneyland Paris, this new area will put guests to the “heart of the action and their favorite superheroes’ epic adventures, from Doctor Strange’s mystical arts to Spiderman vertiginous exploits.” Children and parents can also “discover the latest experiences created by Pym Technology with Ant-Man and the Wasp” before “teaming up with Iron Man, Captain Marvel, Black Panther, Captain America and many others”.
A land the editorial board visited including rides and food offers. Here is (almost) all about it!
As for rides, two are available from July 20, in this new land:
Join the Worldwide Engineering Brigade, and equipped with 3D glasses, fight a pack of Spider-Bots alongside Spider-Man in this innovative ride launching webs with your hands. A ride in lieu of Armaggedon: Les Effets Spéciaux, entirely taken down to give way to the Avengers. A very nice ride, rather sporty, but great for kids! No minimum height require for the ride. More at the link above.
Lots of new restaurants:
Ant-Man and The Wasp expect you in this laboratory by Pym Tech where experiments are conducted on your food that expands or shrinks. A playful menu and lots of nods make of this restaurant an innovative culinary experience! We tried it and we really enjoyed the freshness of dishes and the playful side of the ingredients, coming in small or big size. Honorable mention to the drinks served in beakers! More at the link above.
In lieu of the Blockbuster Café, the Stark Factory supplies a great food offer with a fast-food restaurant devoted to the billionaire in an armor. As for the menu, homemade pizzas, salads and a selection of fresh pastas likely to satisfy foodies. As for the décor, note Tony Stark has something for workshops and invites you to discover his latest creations, including the several meter-tall Hulkbuster. More at the link above.
This American dinner, formerly known as the Café des Cascadeurs, is back and serves Reuben sandwiches, a traditional recipe based on corned-beef, cheese, sauerkraut and dressing, served between two slices of rye bread. A specialty all street-food fans want to discover!
Please also note several food trucks are available: the WEB - Worldwide Eating Brigade, serving a selection of Asian noodles to enjoy on-the-go, as well as the FAN-tastic Food Truck, serving three types of hot dogs, including a vegan one, as well as cheesecake slices on a stick.
And what about the other entertainments?
Have you alway wanted to meet Iron Man, Captain America, Black Widow, Spider-Man, Doctor Strange, Captain Marvel and all the others? Meet to a new building set in lieu of the garage of Motor, Action!: Stuntshow Spectacular. On the menu too, a live and dynamic sequence created by Disney PhotoPass, with 27 cameras, allowing you to keep an epic souvenirs of interactions with Captain Marvel or Iron Man. Compulsory booking via the Disneyland Paris mobile app.
This new store, set at the exit of the Spider-Man W.E.B. Adventure ride, provides a lot of Marvel merch with the WEB Power Bands, namely web-launching bands sporting the colors of Spiderman, Iron Man or Doctor Strange you can use at the ride devoted to Peter Parker. Are also available the famous Spiderbots from the ride you can customize to the colors of your favorite superheroes.
Lots of shows, all day long, on the main street and on the buildings!
Come and meet your favorite superheroes, take pictures with them and take part in their fights with a dance demo by the Dora Milaje, a dance show with the Guardians of the Galaxy, a fight between Black Widow and Taskmaster on the roof of the Spiderman ride, the exploits of Spider-Man on the same roof and a lot more surprises!
And have fun discovering the campus by night with a very special vibe likely to delight a lot of you! Note that on the occasion of the press inauguration, we attended an exceptional drone show with Doctor Strange, as well as a firework show and DJ set by The Avener, after Disneyland Paris President Natasha Rafalski, Walt Disney Company CEO Bob Chapek, actress Brie Larson - playing Captain Marvel in the movies - and all the superheroes stepped in!
A new themed zone that was unveiled a little bit more this past May 12, 2022, thanks to a teaser unveiling the ride in lieu of Rock'n'Roller Coaster namely Avengers Assemble: Flight Force.
An announcement with great fanfare!
This Marvel land was a great surprise, although a lot of things predicted the place was to be redesigned... Starting with the great announcement made by then Parks & Resort director Bob Chapek teasing to over 2,000 stakeholders, with the redesign of the Rock'n'Roller Coaster, long before the Walt Disney Studios extension plan was announced, presented in February 2018 by Bob Iger to Emmanuel Macron.
More details about this new land were released in December of the same year:

In the summer 2019, Disneyland Paris shared a first look of the upcoming land dedicated to the Marvel superheroes giving a few details about the future attractions and shows the area will offer in the Walt Disney Studios. An announcement made by Marvel portfolio executive producer Scot Drake before it was passed on Twitter by the Parisian resort. And for D23 Expo happening in Anaheim, California, from August 23 to 25, 2019, this new zone now has a name: Avengers Campus!
Construction unveiled piece by piece:
As for the worksite, only one picture of the progress of the construction of the Iron Man and Spider-Man rides have been released. This past April already, Walt Disney Imagineering art director Beth Clapperton explained during the resort's 29th anniversary this Monday April 12, 2021.
The location is said to house two rides - among others: "It’s a 360-degree experience where you’re going to find a new attraction dedicated to Spider-Man, a relooking of the attraction it’s had at the bottom of the area, Rock’n’Roller Coaster with Aerosmith which will become a hyper-frenetic attraction with Iron Man, and then of course there are restaurants, boutiques, so a really small town, a real campus", she indicated. She continued:"we'll brought a lot of greenery. It was much more mineral, and now we'd like to get more greenery". She adds the sound atmosphere will be especially meaningful for a total immersion.
Back in November 2020, we were given already some news about the new land with a picture showing some of the construction site of the late Rock'n'Roller Coaster, as well as the Mission Control building said to house a "Meet & Greet" where families can have their pictures taken with many Marvel superheros.
What do these pictures show? That the façade of the upcoming Iron Man ride is taking shape, including the laying of the concrete bases of the upcoming circular front of the ride. As for the Meet & Greet, the building seems done on the outsie, excluding the front, but still waiting for the platform where will be standing the Avengers' Quinjet. A landing that did take place.
A renovation that kept fans on tenterhooks for 2.5 years. The new land opens on July 20, 2022!
