Provins medieval city, listed as Unesco World Heritage, welcomes you all summer long to make you discover the world of falconry. Come along and attend the show “Eagles of the Remparts”, a show with horses and falcons unique in Europe.
If falconry was told… at the Théâtre des Remparts.
Discovery the art of falconry through the peoples who practiced it as a true way of life: the lords from the medieval Occident, the Arabic nomads from the Middle-East, the Kazakh falconers in the steppes from Central Asia…
You’ll be fascinated by the flying eagles, hawks, falcons, kites, caracaras, vultures, owls, and Serpent Eagles, in full complicity with horses, wolves and camels.
This prodigious air ballet is a ballet that children and adults are not ready to forget!
At the end of the show, a tour of one of the greatest aviaries in France, housing about a hundred birds and over 30 different species! Informative cards, discovery booklet and store.
For 4,000 years, falconry, an ancestral way to hunt, is practiced throughout the whole world. This art of hunting in flight knew its peak in the Middle-Ages and has been passed down from generation to generation.
This tradition respecting the nature and the environment, passed down from generation to generation, is registered as an Unesco intangible cultural heritage.
