Easter vacations 2024: activities and costumed tours at Vaux-le-Vicomte castle (77)

During the Easter vacations, from April 6 to 21, 2024, the Château de Vaux-le-Vicomte is putting the spotlight on children and families, offering fun and learning activities.

This year, the spring vacations start just after the Easter weekend. Parents and children can treat themselves to a little pre-holiday outing in the fresh air on the weekend of March 30 to April 1, 2024, when the Château de Vaux-le-Vicomte hosts one of the region's most spectacular egg hunts.

Then, from April 6 onwards, a series of surprising and entertaining activities and visits to discover in the château and gardens of this magnificent Seine-et-Marne estate. Here's the program of activities:

The Styx, River of the Underworld

At the heart of the underground river diverted by André Le Nôtre during the creation of the French gardens, this fun, interactive, scenic tour is based on Jean de La Fontaine's text "Les amours de Psyché et Cupidon". Guided along the River Styx - the River of the Underworld - and equipped with headlamps and waders, visitors must overcome a series oftests of agility and logic... A unique and intense adventure led by professional actors, to be enjoyed with family and friends!

La Poule aux oeufs d'or (treasure hunt)

La Poule aux Œufs d'Or, Jean de La Fontaine's famous fable, has hidden its golden eggs in the alleys of the French garden!
Equipped with a roadmap to punch in, visitors must help Jean de La Fontaine find all the eggs.

Cost: booklet distributed free of charge to all children during the spring holidaysù

At the king's table

Discover the secrets of French-style entertaining. During this scripted workshop, you'll be welcomed by François Vatel, Nicolas Fouquet's famous maître d'hôtel, who dedicated his life to the art of the table.

In the intimacy of a private château salon, you'll gather around a table beautifully set with porcelain and silverware from famous French houses, to be introduced to courtly customs and French savoir-vivre, and earn your place at the King's table.

Dates: daily, at 2, 3.30 and 5 p.m.

Immersive Sound Tour

Visitors can relive the fascinating story of Nicolas Fouquet thanks to a spatialized sound system! Thanks to high-end headphones, visitors will be able to discover sound theater scenes automatically triggered in each room of the château.
