Monument Jeu d'Enfant 2025: a princely family weekend at the Château de Rambouillet

Do you know the Château de Rambouillet and its sheepfold? Discover this former royal and imperial residence, surrounded by its lush forest. The monument opens its doors free of charge to the curious, who wish to explore this magnificent medieval fortress, which has survived the centuries by transforming itself according to the fashions and needs of the sovereigns of France. This remarkable castle welcomes us for a weekend of activities, as part of Monument Jeu d'Enfant.

This October 2025, we're once again taking advantage of Monument Jeu d'Enfant, the big cultural event for little ones. This national event, organized by the Centre des Monuments Nationaux, opens the doors of numerous monuments throughout France, allowing children and their parents to visit them free of charge. What's more, the whole event is rounded off withfun and educationalworkshops andactivities for the whole family!

On the weekend of October 18 and 19, 2025, come to the Château de Rambouillet for a whole weekend of activities!

The program for the Monument Jeu d'Enfant event at Château de Rambouillet:

The Prince of Rambouillet
Celebrate the 300th birthday of the Duc de Penthièvre at the Château de Rambouillet and the Palais du Roi de Rome! On the program: a choice of two activities for the whole family to discover the history of this exceptional prince, born and raised in Rambouillet, and above all to have fun! And for the more curious, a SHARY conference awaits you!
October 18 and 19, 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

• PRINCE PORTRAIT
  Visit followed by a workshop. Come to the château and meet the Duc de Penthièvre and his family through their portraits! From salon to salon, listen to the Duchesse de Chartres recount the life of her father and his family at Rambouillet. Then take part in a portrait workshop and create your own princely portrait!

• LE PAVILLON DU VERGER EN FAMILLE
  Visit followed by a workshop. Discover with your family this small 18th-century monument and its sumptuous medallion room, depicting children's games, commissioned by the Duc de Penthièvre. Then take part in a workshop to build your own Pavillon du Verger.

• CONFERENCE: UN PRINCE SINGULIER
  For adults, lecture by Jean Duma, member of the Shary (Société historique et archéologique de Rambouillet et de l'Yveline), at the Relays du Château.
