Red pandas: a weekend to discover this adorable mammal at the Menagerie

Arriving again in April 2024, the red pandas of Paris's oldest zoo were finally back at the Jardin des Plantes Menagerie. By welcoming back first a young male and then a young female, both born in captivity, the red pandas are officially back, after many months since the species had disappeared from the enclosures, following the death of the 2023 doyenne female, Maya.

So, this Saturday and Sunday, September 14 and 15, 2024, the Jardin des Plantes Menagerie invites you to meet these small mammals of the Ailuridae family, whose natural habitat is in southwest China, within the bamboo-rich mountain forests.
