Attention fluffy pancake lovers! We're off to Paris's 3rd arrondissement to discover this spot that combines gourmet delights and immersion. With its ultra-cozy, floral-themed decor, Hanami Tea Time stands out as a beautiful, unusual tea room in the center of the capital.
The journey begins outside, where you can watch from the sidewalk as Jimmy - who initiated the project - makes the famous fluffy pancakes before your very eyes. The immersion continues inside. Our eyes are immediately drawn to the torii, the traditional Japanese gateway, and then to a magnificent reproduction of a cherry blossom tree by artist Sylvain Berst. The most observant will have fun looking for the artist's signature hidden somewhere on the work.
And the wonder continues with flowers hanging everywhere in the tea room. The highlight of the show? The long corridor, sublimated by hanging wisteria and a huge fresco created by Sylvain Berst. And the artist hasn't finished with Hanami Tea Time, as he plans to unveil another work at the very back of the establishment, a fresco that will change with the seasons.
With its ultra-careful, Instagrammable decor, Hanami Tea Time plunges us into the land of the Rising Sun in just a few seconds, with a furious desire to settle down and take our time. And that's exactly what we're going to do as we savor THE specialty of the place: fluffy pancakes.
For those who don't know, fluffy pancakes are puffed pancakes from Japan. Thick, fluffy and ultra-light, they can be topped with chocolate, caramel, strawberries... you name it!
Hanami Tea Time 's à la carte menu features 7 different proposals. Our favorite is the Fluffyculoos caramel (speculoos, whipped cream, homemade salted butter caramel). We also loved the Strawburry Yuzu , which combines the freshness of strawberries with the tangy scent of yuzu. For cocoa addicts, opt for the hazelnut chocolate Strawburry with its addictive mousse.
There's also an attractive savory menu offering fluffy pancakes for lunch. We particularly liked the salmon and cream cheese version, which manages to be very gourmet without being very heavy.
To accompany these fluffy pancakes, Hanami Tea Time suggests a pretty creative menu of hot and cold drinks, such as the excellent and delicate Pink Blossom (whole milk, rose, violet). Another house signature? The refreshing Sakura lychee (sparkling water, cherry blossom, whole lychee).
For matcha enthusiasts, why not try our vanilla matcha (whole milk, vanilla matcha) or rose matcha. You'll also find a passion flavor cold tea or a red fruit cold tea.
Behind this new establishment are the very friendly Léa and Jimmy. After a trip to Japan during the sakura blossom season, the couple decided to bring a breath of fresh air to Paris. Their idea? To open a warm and comforting place, inviting you to travel and take your time, with a focus on fluffy pancakes.
This is a place for everyone, young and old alike. Everything is homemade, from sauces to caramel. A victim of its own success, it can get crowded at weekends. So, if you want to enjoy it to the full, the weekday choice is a good option.
This test was conducted as part of a professional invitation. If your experience differs from ours, please let us know.
