With this heat, there is nothing quite some tasty ice cream to cool off, right? But not any kind! Among the new ice cream parlors to discover this summer 2021, do not miss La Manufacture de Glace Alain Ducasse. Set rue de la Roquette, right by the chocolate and coffee stores, the Michelin-starred chef’s latest ice cream parlor is a refreshing and original break.
Loyal to his habits, Alain Ducasse provides fresh products made on site, based on high quality ingredients using traditional handicraft to save flavors’ authenticity. Therefore, nuts used to make ice creams are roasted in the chef’s manufactures.
Here, no products spending weeks in freezers, ice creams are made on site, every day and always in small batches. They are churned before your eyes all day long, depending on needs.
One can enjoy ice creams, granitas, or sorbets based on classic flavors (chocolate, coffee, vanilla, pistachio…), or more exotic such as the fresh herb sorbets (our favorite one), the olive oil ice cream, the “plombière” ice cream, or the cocoa & lemon cascara granita.
The place is managed by Matteo Casone, a gelatiere coming from Bologna, Italy, who – after traveling the world to improve his art – managed to delight Alain Ducasse in July 2020 making him taste his grapefruit & Vermouth sorbet available at La Manufacture de Glace.
And if you are not faint-hearted, ice creams are also available in 500g and 1kg containers to take away and enjoy at home to amaze your guests.
