The town of Cormeilles-en-Parisis (95) is gearing up for July 14, 2026 to celebrate Bastille Day 2026 with family-friendly activities all afternoon. The fireworks display has sadly been canceled and replaced by a fan zone to watch France in the World Cup.

Due to a prefectural order banning fireworks amid heightened fire risk in the department, the town of Cormeilles-en-Parisis cancels its fireworks display. The rest of the evening, however, will go ahead as planned.

The National Holiday is celebrated each year in France on July 14, a date that notably commemorates the storming of the Bastille, a pivotal moment of the French Revolution on July 14, 1789. This public holiday is now marked by traditional celebrations in honor of the Republic. Thus, in the height of summer, the fireworks, the military parade and the firefighters’ balls light up every corner of the country.

The edition could, however, deliver a big surprise for football fans if France advances to the World Cup semifinal scheduled for the same evening.

The festivities kick off at 2 p.m. with a host of free activities for families at the area and the Émy-les-Prés hall. Indoors or outdoors, several inflatable features will be there for the kids. A face-painting booth (until 7 p.m.), fairground games, and sporting games will also be available until 9 p.m. A fairground with rides, a candy truck, and a duck fishing game will round out the entertainment throughout the afternoon and evening.
