Fête Nationale 2025 in Houdan (78): popular ball, country-style meal and fireworks display

For the Fête Nationale, the Ile-de-France region pulls out all the stops! For the occasion, the country comes alive with traditional celebrations including fireworks displays, military parades, Republican picnics, popular balls and other festive events, from Paris to the inner suburbs.

In the regions, the eve of July 14th is the day to have fun, and two days of partying is even better! The town of Houdan, in the Yvelines department, is going all out and organizing the festivities over two days.

For the national holiday celebrating the storming of the Bastille, this pretty medieval town and its keep welcome you from the evening of July 13, 2025, with a host of free, fun-filled events, with friends and family alike! It's also an opportunity to discover the town's history and its many secrets, well kept since the Middle Ages, including the 12th-century keep , theChurch of Saint-Jacques-le-Majeur-et-Saint-Christophe, a Gothic edifice featuring a fresco of a pilgrimage to Montserrat (1582) and a restored Cliquot organ from 1739, and theremains of the ramparts, evidence of the medieval fortifications.
