Every July 14th, the French celebrate their national holiday. While military and aerial parades delight the eyes of young and old alike, fireworks bring the day to a close with a breathtaking pyrotechnic display.
In several towns in the Paris region, the Fête Nationale festivities take place the day before. This is particularly true of Livry-Gargan in the 93 department. The Seine-Saint-Denis town has a strong link with July 14, as legend has it that it was on the initiative of Sergeant Cournet that the doors of the Montmartre barracks were first opened to the public for a popular ball on July 14, 1937. Since then, the tradition has continued, to the delight of firefighters and fans of popular balls alike.
Join us on Thursday July 13, from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m. at the Livry-Gargan fire station (34 avenue Lucie Aubrac) for the 2023 Firefighters' Ball! Catering available on site.
Join us on Thursday, July 13, at 10.30pm at the Parc des Sports Alfred-Marcel-Vincent for the traditional fireworks display. This year, 21 colorful frescoes and a final bouquet will light up the Livry sky, for a total of 19 minutes of pyrotechnic spectacle. Fans, peonies, crackling, silver cascades, tracer comets... these are just some of the names for the different components of the next fireworks display.
