The summer’s must-attend event, Bastille Day is back. As every year, it’s a free opportunity to enjoy a friendly evening with friends or family, to dance at a folk dance, and to marvel at the “beautiful reds, blues, greens and yellows” of the fireworks while shouting Wow from all sides.
This traditional celebration has been held every year since the Fête de la Fédération in 1790, and the Storming of the Bastille the year before. A way to mark the nation’s unity and the rise of the republican model. So, are you ready to join the celebration?
Attention all residents of the Val-de-Marne, the town of Santeny will be taking part, but note: the celebrations will take place the day before the big day, on July 13, 2026. Île-de-France towns, guided by their own traditions and celebrations, are many to mark the Bastille Day on July 13 in order to avoid encroaching on fireworks in neighboring cities.
