It's a busy July 14th day ahead for Parisians. This Tuesday morning, the traditional 14 July parade returns along the Champs-Élysées. For the occasion, about 8,500 men and women and 300 vehicles will roll down the world’s most beautiful avenue, while nine Alphajets from the Patrouille de France, escorted by two Mirage 2000s from the Ukrainian army, will kick off the procession.
In the evening, a different atmosphere as football fans will thrill to the pace of the World Cup semi-final, with a gripping clash anticipated to be intense between the France and Spain.
But the organization of the military parade and the France–Spain match will have consequences for Parisians. On July 14, 2026, expect traffic restrictions around the world’s most beautiful avenue. Disruptions in the metro and RER are also on the schedule.
Due to security measures requested by the Police Prefecture, the RATP announces the closure of several metro stations in the Champs-Élysées area this July 14. Specifically, the stops will not be served on Tuesday morning at Charles de Gaulle – Étoile (lines 1, 2, 6, and RER A), Tuileries (line 1), Concorde (lines 1, 8 and 12), Champs-Élysées – Clemenceau (lines 1 and 13), Franklin D. Roosevelt (lines 1 and 9), George V (line 1) and Argentine (line 1). On line 1, trains will run direct and without stops between Porte Maillot and Palais Royal – Musée du Louvre. Transfers will not be provided. On the line 6, service is interrupted between Trocadéro and Charles de Gaulle–Étoile. Trocadéro will thus become the temporary terminus. "Reopening of stations will be subject to authorization by the Police Prefecture", the RATP notes.
In the evening, for the World Cup semifinal, new closures are planned starting at 8 p.m. for "security reasons." Thus, the stations Argentina (Line 1), Charles de Gaulle – Étoile (Lines 1, 2 and 6, and RER A), George V (Line 1), Franklin D.
