National Day 2026 in Ballancourt-sur-Essonne (91): firefighters' ball kept on, fireworks canceled

For this National Day 2026, the city of Ballancourt-sur-Essonne (91) invites you to join its traditional firefighters’ ball on July 13! However, following a prefectural order, the torch-lit procession and the fireworks display have been canceled.

Due to the intense heat and Essonne’s red alert for fire risk, the prefecture has temporarily banned fireworks and festive fires in the department. Consequently, the town of Ballancourt-sur-Essonne announces the cancellation of the torchlight procession and of the fireworks planned for July 13. The firefighters’ ball, however, will go ahead.

In the heart of summer, France marks the Fête Nationale with grand flair each year around July 14. For the occasion, the traditional festivities spread across the country: between feux d'artifice, bals des pompiers, popular celebrations, and even défilés militaires, the program is shaping up to be packed!

In Paris, the standout moments of the National Day 2026 await on the Champs-Élysées with the grand military parade, while the Eiffel Tower area will light up with a pyrotechnic show, exceptionally staged this year, on the evening of July 13.

While the City of Light grabs the spotlight, the rest of the Paris region isn’t left behind. In Essonne, the town of Ballancourt-sur-Essonne, home to the Château de Saussay, is also gearing up for the July 14 celebrations.

The town and the firefighters' association invite a large turnout on Monday, July 13, 2026, to celebrate Bastille Day together at a grand festive evening!

From 7 p.m. – The Firefighters’ Ball (Ballancourt Fire Station): Come dance and celebrate! A DJ will spin the tunes all night. For food and drinks, on-site you'll find several food trucks along with a bar run by our firefighters - kept on
10:30 p.m. – Torchlight procession : Start from Market Square for a luminous, convivial stroll - annulé
