The traditional Eiffel Tower fireworks display will not take place on the evening of July 14 as usual, but on the day before, July 13, 2026.

This year, the traditional Eiffel Tower fireworks display, normally launched on July 14 at nightfall, will not take place on the day of the Bastille Day 2026... but rather on the eve. The reason? To mark the 10th anniversary of the Nice attack that left 86 dead on July 14, 2016.

It was announced by Paris Mayor Emmanuel Grégoire, in agreement with the President of the Republic. The fireworks display over the Eiffel Tower will therefore be exceptionally held the night before, on Monday July 13, 2026, at the Champ-de-Mars.

"As every year, on the occasion of Bastille Day on July 14, the City of Paris organizes a grand fireworks display for all Parisians and visitors to the capital. This year, with the agreement of the President of the Republic, I decided that the 2026 edition would take place on Monday, July 13, to allow proper time for the national day of remembrance marking the tenth anniversary of the Nice attack." the official said.

And continuing: "Indeed, on July 14, 2026, a ten-year commemoration of this tragedy will take place, paying tribute to the 86 dead — including 15 minors — the 458 injured, and the thousands of people affected by this traumatic event."

The Champs-Élysées military parade is set to go ahead on Tuesday, July 14, 2026.
