July 14th is the national holiday in France. For the occasion, the country comes alive with traditional celebrations including fireworks displays, military parades, Republican picnics, popular balls and other festive events. But Paris isn't the only city to pull out all the stops, with many communes in the Paris region offering a crazy program!
Leave the capital to its own devices on July 14, and enjoy the region on July 13, so you can enjoy the festivities twice! In the Val-de-Marne, the charming town of Choisy-le-Roi, you'll be able to enjoy a pyrotechnic show fired from the riverbanks, to take your breath away! The Parc de la Mairie, the former estate of Louis XV's royal château, has preserved the remains of its two entrance pavilions, while the former presbytery, now home to the Tourist Office, offers a 3D reconstruction of the royal estate! And don't forget theParc des Gondoles and its animal farm, or the Faïencerie de Choisy-le-Roi, an old factory founded in 1805.
Saturday, July 13, 7 to 11:30 p.m. - Parc de la Grande Demoiselle and Quai Fernand Dupuy
From 7pm onwards, come and enjoy a "guinguette" evening in the Parc de la Grande Mademoiselle, transformed for the occasion into a huge party venue. A host of entertainment, games for young and old (mölkky, wooden games, etc.) and other surprises await you in a warm and friendly atmosphere. All this in a musical atmosphere with the presence of the group Mixtura, who will take you on a journey to the rhythm of their Latin sounds. A foodtruck will be on hand to tempt your taste buds, along with a refreshment bar run by the Choisy-le-Roi firefighters. Enough to tide you over until nightfall!
To round off the evening in style, the traditional fireworks display will take place at 11.30pm from the banks of the Seine, in front of the Médiathèque Aragon. With its theme of "Au fil de la Seine ", the show promises to be a tribute to the Seine and an invitation to look up to the sky and let yourself be carried away by the magic of its lights and reflections.

Traffic and parking will be prohibited from Saturday July 13 08:00 to Sunday July 14 01:00 on Quai Fernand Dupuy, between Avenue Louis Luc and Avenue Guynemer. Parking will be prohibited from Saturday July 13 19:00 to Sunday July 14 01:00 on Avenue Pierre Mendès France between Quai Fernand Dupuy and Rue Gutenberg. The police will be obliged to remove any vehicle in breach of the law remaining on the public highway. Screening points with bag checks will be set up at the entrances to the area accessible to the public (please avoid bulky bags).
