The city of Pontoise is organizing its traditional fireworks display to celebrate Bastille Day 2025, on July 14 on the banks of the River Oise.

It's the big return of the Fête nationale in the Ile-de-France region, and now more than ever is the time to choose where you're going to party this July 14, 2024. In Pontoise in the Val d'Oise (95), the event promises to be festive, with a grand bal populaire and the traditional fireworks display to round things off in style.

The French National Holiday, celebrated on July 14th, commemorates two major historical events: the storming of the Bastille in 1789, which marked the start of the French Revolution, and the Fête de la Fédération in 1790, a symbol of national unity.

Established in 1880, this day is emblematic of French freedom and democracy, and is traditionally celebrated with military parades (notably the one on the Champs-Élysées in Paris), fireworks displays (the most legendary being the one fired from the Eiffel Tower), concerts and popular balls.
