POSTPONEMENT OF THE JULY 14 FIREWORKS. Due to extreme heat and a high fire risk, the City of Pontoise, in agreement with the City of Saint-Ouen-l’Aumône, has decided to move the July 14 fireworks to a later date. The fireworks display will take place on Saturday, September 19, 2026, in conjunction with European Heritage Days. The rest of the July 14 celebrations are proceeding as planned: the commemorative ceremony, the concert, the public ball, and the live broadcast of the World Cup semi-final. The French National Holiday, celebrated on July 14th, commemorates two major historical events: the storming of the Bastille in 1789, which marked the start of the French Revolution, and the Fête de la Fédération in 1790, a symbol of national unity.
